Local Roots, A Career That Found Her Twice
Shaylee grew up between Sevier and Sanpete counties and graduated from GVHS in 2010. She gave Snow College a year, but quickly realized traditional school wasn't the path for her — so she jumped straight into hair school at Evan's Hairstyling College in Cedar City. From there, she went on to the Acaydia School of Aesthetics to earn her Master Esthetician license, graduating and passing her exams in 2013 — the same year she married her husband, Drew.
She spent the next several years running her own salon, practicing both hair and aesthetics, until her daughter Aria Jade was born in 2015. She went back to work not long after, continuing until her son Soren arrived in 2018. With two kids at home, she took a two-and-a-half-year break — but being the outgoing, talkative person she is, she started missing work before long. That's when she joined Dr. Abbott's office as a master esthetician, leaving hairdressing behind for good to focus on skincare full time.
Outside the treatment room, Shaylee is a self-described Halloween queen who loves all things spooky and never turns down a good scary movie. She and her family stay busy with board and video games, camping, horseback riding, paddleboarding, and the occasional movie night. She's fairly girly but just as happy being "one of the boys," and by her own admission, she's an open book — clumsy, a little accident-prone, and always ready with an embarrassing story or two.
