Dr. Abbott founded Abbott Health & Wellness to give Central Utah access to the kind of care that addresses the whole patient — not just the symptom on today's chart. He brings board-certified family medicine training to a functional medicine model that looks at root causes, real labs, and real conversation.
His patients come from Salina, Richfield, Manti, and across Sevier County for care that simply wasn't available locally before Abbott opened its doors.

Dr. Abbott finished his residency in 2010 and spent the next seven years practicing family medicine within Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) before opening Abbott Health & Wellness as an independent practice in 2017. Along the way, he sat across from hundreds of patients working through the same struggles with weight, energy, and hormones — and it took years of that work before he recognized the same patterns creeping into his own health.
Instead of reaching for a quick fix, he did what he now asks his patients to do: real labs, an honest look at his own lifestyle, and a plan built around the actual cause — not just the symptom. Over time, he lost 100 pounds, using the same whole-person approach he brings to every exam room today.
"I don't ask my patients to do anything I haven't done myself. I know what it feels like to be stuck — and I know what it actually takes to change."— Justin Abbott, D.O.
Osteopathic medicine trains physicians to see the body as an interconnected whole — not a collection of isolated parts. Dr. Abbott combines that foundation with functional medicine practice, which means every patient intake starts with the full picture: history, lifestyle, genetics, labs, and goals.
In Central Utah, that kind of care has historically required a drive to Salt Lake City. Dr. Abbott built Abbott Health & Wellness to change that — bringing specialist-level thinking to a small-town practice where he sees his patients at the grocery store and knows their families by name.
His particular areas of focus are hormone optimization, medical weight loss, ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant mental health conditions, and IV vitamin therapy — all within a broader functional medicine framework that treats the cause, not the symptom.
"The body already knows how to heal. Our job is figuring out what's getting in the way — and then getting out of the way so it can." — Justin Abbott, D.O., Founder
D.O. physicians complete the same rigorous medical training as M.D.s — and additionally train in osteopathic manipulative medicine and a whole-body philosophy of care. In functional medicine practice, this translates to a more holistic view of symptoms, causes, and treatment planning.
